Bremelanotide Clinical Trial Shows Powerful Effect
New evidence of the dramatic effectiveness of bremelanotide (PT-141) at
increasing sexual receptivity in women was presented on February 25, 2007,
at the annual meeting of the International Society for the Study of
Women's Sexual Health. A Phase II clinical trial showed that women taking
the drug felt a "tingling warm" sensation, felt "intense arousal" that
lasted 6 to 72 hours, initiated sex with their partners and then "were
completely focused on sex during the act."
Twenty-seven women took part in the clinical test, some taking
bremelanotide and some a placebo (sugar pill). They completed
questionnaires before and after taking the medicines. Those taking the
PT141 showed far more sexual effects than those taking the placebo..
